Kiakh Square

Street side pocket garden in Jerusalem

The square is located on Jaffa Street in Jerusalem, near Mahane Yehuda Market, as part of a large complex which is planned to include residences, hotels and commerce.
The square, which is elevated from the sidewalk, is connected by a wide staircase element, which contains unique seating areas while taking advantage of the differences in topography. It attracts people to stop, sit, stay and watch the passers-by. On the upper level there is a large lawn and trees which can accommodate changing urban events. The square creates a unique place along the axis connecting Mahane Yehuda Market to the city center and the Old City.
