Geffen Tower

Landscape over underground parking lot in Ramat Gan

A unique public project of its kind in which we were asked to design the development areas around the tower, including a rich and shaded garden for the benefit of the building's residents and the neighborhood. The garden is characterized by multiple levels where we were required to create solutions for complex topographical situations typical of such projects.

The entrance to the building from the street level crosses a garden abundant with Platanus trees and multi-trunk Lagerstroemia from Hochberg Export Ornamental plants Ltd. Elevated corten planters in circular movements wrap around benches, creating intimate seating areas and a feeling of a grove and a nature oasis in the heart of the urban environment.

The project is characterized by a combination of design language with the selection of materials and vegetation, corten for the planters, decking and architectural concrete for the benches, and various objects. The trees planted in the project include 8 Platanus trees intended to create a shaded 'grove’, Indian Lagerstroemia trees blooming white from May to November, and a row of white Cercis trees surrounding the bicycle parking.

The use of a small number of plant types, with large masses of the same plant spreading over the garden areas, emphasizes the power of the round language of the corten planters and the development, and also makes it easier to maintain a public garden over time under ideal conditions.
